Bio:
I am dreaming of a government that cares about its people and feels sad if they leave. I am dreaming of a government that wants the best for its citizens and does not steal from them then sell them with the country in cheap. I am dreaming of a government that imposes taxes but not in the purpose of stealing them. I am dreaming of a government where all citizens, women and men, are equal in all their rights. I am dreaming of a government that possesses a dignity and personality and does not fear anyone or hide behind anyone. I am dreaming of a government that keeps its promises. I am dreaming of a government that provides 24/7 electricity and consumable water. I am dreaming of a government that holds the responsible accountable if he makes a mistake, or at least a government where the responsible feels ashamed of the people and leaves his chair. I am dreaming of a government that encourages people to produce and enables its economy. I am dreaming of a government that is not a beggar. I am dreaming of a smart government that finds solution with the help of its citizens. I am dreaming of a humble government, where the officials drive their own cars without hundreds of bodyguards. I am dreaming of a state with no community-named streets. I am dreaming of a civil state where all people can do whatever they want based on their abilities, skills and certificates and not based on their sect, mediator, party or leader. I am dreaming of a country where all the citizens are living with dignity, where we respect each other and respect all foreigners from workers to refugees. I am dreaming of a government that appreciates art and culture. I am dreaming of a government that is not ashamed of saying that it is against racism and sick confessionalism. I am dreaming of municipalities that include members who are not only available as a town façade and have only passed an orthography exam at the kaymakam. I am dreaming of a country that wants to tell its people "Don't leave! We have plenty of job opportunities and we want to build Lebanon all together". I am dreaming of a government that knows who is living on its territory, their number and their expertise. I am dreaming of a country that knows how to defend itself. I am dreaming of a country where we can drink a cold beer in any region or street without the fear of seeing someone that does like to drink. I am dreaming of a government where the responsible is aware that he is an only an employee who works for the people and does not show-off with the services he offers or the boxes he distributes and let people wait at his doorstep. My name is Ghada Ghadem. I hold a Law degree from the St Joseph University in Lebanon and a coloratura from America. I was one of the first associates in the "Citizens in a State" movement in 2016. I was elected a member of my town, Saghbin, municipality this same year and for the term 2018/2019. I participated in a women empowerment in the political field program sponsored by the German Government and the Women Affairs Committee in Lebanon. My soprano voice rejects hearing discordant melodies neither in singing, nor in talking, nor in logic thinking. Even if the country is full of discordant melodies, I do not want to leave. I want to stay and be proud that I contributed in the civil state building for all citizens alongside my comrades.
